One Month Old

So everyone (well every mother) does this on their blogs, and as much as i hate to copy others, its a very good idea, so i'll just call it jumping on the bandwagon. In the end, this will be for Natalia and me, so we can look back together and share things.

Natalia Lee,

Today you are offcially one month old. Its amazing how much can change in just a month. When you were born you were so swollen! Your face so very round and your Abuelo kept saying that you weren't going to have eyelashes! Turns out, once the swelling went down, out popped these gorgeuos long, straight as an arrow lashes.

You were yellowish all over just a day after you were born, but the jaunice has almost completely gone away, although some days you look yellower than others in the face. You like the sun baths we give you to get rid of this silly jaundice, and because the doctors say to give it to you naked, you enjoy peeing or pooping on me during them as well!

You don't like being moved once you find a comfortable spot with someone, but instead of crying about it, you just grunt and complain. You do that often, and really don't cry that much. However, when you cry, it is loud. I've pretty much figured out how to read what your cry means, but sometimes it eludes me and it takes a while to calm you down.

You've already been out in the world numerous times. We've been to Sam's, Costco, the grocery store, both malls in town, the houses of your abuela, tia, papi's godmother, your abuela's godmother, and I can't think of where else.

You're not on a schedule yet, although you've gotten better. Some days you sleep hard for a few hours then you're wide awake for a few more. Others (like today) you're just kind of drowsy all day and cat nap for 20 minutes at a time.

You like music, espcially the mobile that Meredith's mom bought for you. Everytime we change you, you turn your head to look at it, as if asking us to turn it on. Papi has downloaded some music on his cell phone that you really like too. You also enjoy sleeping in between Papi and me, but seeing as how our bed is only a full size, I only let you in after 6am. You are pretty good about sleeping in the bassinet, but soon we'll have to put you in the crib.

Every day I learn something about you and love you more and more. I can't wait to see you grow!!

Love, your mama
